WHINE ABOUT WINTER!
Tommorrow (February 4, 2010) is our annual WHINE ABOUT WINTER event. The times for the tasting and shopping are 5 pm to 9 in all of the stores downtown. Come on down and shop,taste,eat and enjoy all of the great businesses downtown Winchester has to offer. Several of the stores are offering special sales and products for that nite. Looking forward to see you all tommorrow!!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas Season. We have met so many new and wonderful customers over the last year.
ANNUAL CLEARANCE SALE STILL GOING STRONG!
January is our annual clearance sale. Everything in the store will be at least 10% off, and up to 60% off. So come and check out the great deals. Due to fact that we took so long to put out the newsletter, we will extend this sale until February 10.
This spring our oldest daughter is planning on getting married in May, so it looks like we will be a little busy with that.
We already have one show booked for the store in April in Barbourville Ky., for the weekend of the 9th and 10th. This looks like it is going to be a great event! They have several classes, a quilt display, and a folklore event as well as several vendors from around the area. The Block-of-the-Month program will be ending in January so we will be starting a new one in February.
March 18 is Quilter’s Dayout, watch for more details later.
April is also our 4th anniversary here in Winchester, so watch for more on what we will have planned for that! It looks like it is going to be huge.

Making quilts from strips is a very quick and easy way to make a beautiful quilt. We are offering 3 unique class on how to use this great technique to make 3 different quilts.
Each class will be a different quilt and you can do all or any of the three.

Beginning Crochet

Ever wanted to learn the basics of crochet? Now is the time to learn.
A hook and a ball of yarn will be supplied, all you need is a willingness to learn.

Stretchy Star Quilt

Simple technique to make an elongated 6 pointed star pattern. Two different ways to put this one together will be shown.

Learn to Knit
Saturdays, February 27 thru April 17, 2010

This eight week class teaches how to knit, purl and all of the necessary stitches to make a basic sweater. We will also cover how to fix mistakes as they occur. At the end of the class there will be an extra session for those that miss a class during the eight weeks of class. The material list will be given out when the class fee is paid.
I am limiting this class to 8 people, so please sign up early! There has been a lot of interest in this class. If we get enough interest, I will schedule a second set of classes.

Basic Quilting class

This class will last 8 weeks and each class will cover a specific technique and you will complete a block using these methods. When the class is complete you will have a finished quilt.

Day and Night quilt

A simple quilt top technique that makes two different patterns at once. The class will construct a 4-block table runner, and cut pieces for the bonus quilt. The same method can be used to make a quilt of any size.
This uses a special ruler, so each person taking the class will need to buy the Eleanor Burns book that includes the ruler.

Snowball Quilt

The snowball quilt is a very versatile quilt design. Once you learn how to make this quilt, you will be surprised at how many other ways you can make it work for materials and projects.

The Bead embellishing class and the no-sew ornament class were a big success. We have been asked to repeat these classes. If you want to take this class we have a signup list in the store to schedule one sometime in the next quarter.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
As always, we have table space and a spare machine or two. If you have a special project you would like help on, come on down and talk to Judy or Dave and we can call it a class and work something out! You can work on your project in the store with expert help and cheery encouragement handy!
